What's the point of healing if there's no endpoint?

I commonly receive these types of questions and here below I unpack it for you to enjoy and ponder on! "Do you think trauma and neglect is something we can truly heal from (as in, the original wound heals and it is as if nothing had ever happened), or do you believe it is something we heal / grow around? Because to me it feels like the second thing is the case right now, that through rigorous self care and continuously practicing self-compassion, we may be able to lessen the impact of trauma on our lives, but it will not fully go away.”
